PODCAST: Trauma and Inflammation – Episode 1

Trauma and Inflammation – Episode 1

  • What is inflammation?
  • How does trauma contribute to inflammation?
  • Techniques for reducing inflammation

After trauma, eating more healthily will improve one’s longevity, their ability to regulate their emotions, learn and remember more easily. Do you want to help your clients improve more quickly?

The mental health field generally has been slow to recognize the role that nutrition can play in mental health. However, recent studies have begun to change commonly-held beliefs. Research has shown that diet can play a significant role in treating depression.  Studies have found that nutritional supplements can significantly reduce anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress symptoms following major traumatic events.

Nutrition is important in dealing with trauma. Eating a healthy diet can reduce the negative effects of stress on your body. A healthy diet builds a solid, more enduring foundation for your body by reducing oxidation and inflammation and by helping to reduce weight gain.
