The Role of Neuroscience in the Life of the Executive Leader

June 27, 2023 @ 8:30 am - June 28, 2023 @ 4:00 pm MST

$200.00 – $250.00

Course Description

This training explores the world of asset-focused, salutogenic leadership and provides the means for the executive to grow their social influence in their organization. Participants will gain a broad understanding of the role that human neurobiology plays in the everyday life of the executive leader and their team members. Modifiable stress factors will be discussed in depth, giving organizational leaders insights into recognizing distress in themselves and their staff. The study of how emotional intelligence is essential for effectively leading others in challenging times and crises will be presented, along with the means for participants to self-assess how they are oriented to lead. From these ten modules, executive leaders will identify the most common fears and needs of those who fear change and the steps they can take to increase competencies and capacities.

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Participants will be able to recognize the differences between deficit-focused leadership and asset-focused leadership.
  • Participants will be better able to survey and appraise the unmet needs and the unseen person that is behind an employee’s problematic behavior.
  • Participants will be able to formulate plans and implement strategies for reducing stress and optimizing performance for themselves and their teams.
  • Participants will be able to examine their own leadership style and recognize what they need to act upon to strengthen their credibility and influence.
  • Participants will be able to construct an asset-focused, trauma-sensitive plan to help their team members to be less afraid of change and more ready to work through the stages of transition.
  • Participants will be able to recognize the contrast between the characteristics of confidence and competence and restate how employees can stay their course in the face of great challenges.

Participants in the Platinum option receive 4 bi-monthly (90 minutes each) executive mentoring sessions via Zoom:

  • Develop a deeper understanding of how a person’s neurobiology is an essential factor in effectively leading others, improving performance, and optimizing readiness for the future.
  • Experience a safe, supporting environment with other executive leaders to address concerns and challenges in implementing asset-focused leadership principles.
  • Meet and discuss shared interests with other executives who are seeking to grow their social influence and strengthen their leadership with team members who have a history of adversity.
  • Realign their organization’s mission, goals, and values with principles aimed at increasing competencies and capacities.
