Matthew King, MS, LPC, Clinical Director, has more than 15 years’ experience in the field of behavioral health and substance abuse treatment. Matthew leads Summit Sanctuary’s evidence-based clinical programming and ensures fidelity to the model. He built the company’s clinical programming to provide the highest continuum of care for our clients, starting with developing a comprehensive residential program that will lead to a full spectrum of treatment including Partial Hospitalization Programming and Intensive Outpatient Programming if clients choose that path of development. Matthew is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as Certified Group Therapy Expert.

In addition to his oversight with Summit, Matthew also works as an individual mental health therapist at Iridescent Counseling Center Tempe, AZ, as well as working as adjunct faculty with Northern Arizona University teaching courses on substance use, Interventions and Clinical Practices, and Clinical Documentation. Matthew is also skilled in multiple therapeutic modalities including Motivational Interviewing, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy while also providing clinical supervision for practitioners seeking independent licensure.
