Creating a Compassionate and Productive Workplace Environment

August 15 @ 8:30 am - 4:00 pm MST

$79.00

Training Description

Professionals working to bring care and services to suffering or struggling individuals understand that prolonged exposure to other people’s trauma narratives is impacting them. The more a person is empathetic, the more they are vulnerable to compassion fatigue. There are other factors that also play into the cost of caring for others, and participants can expect a comprehensive and interactive experience, providing them with five key principles for improving their place of work. For those concerned with burnout or vicarious trauma, they will find the didactic material, self-assessment and self-care tools to be empowering. The intention is to help everyone take back mastery over their lives, careers, and the workplace environment. The focus is entirely on the workers’ realities at work and the essentials needed to empower employees to meet the demands of their jobs while increasing their personal health and wellness. From this six-hour course, leaders and non-leaders will learn how to better collaborate on deflating the Spiral of Mistrust and create a culture that is compassionate to employees and productive in achieving the organization’s mission.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will be able to develop a plan to monitor personal needs and improve self-care;
  2. Participants will be able to recognize how the factors contributing to compassion fatigue might be affecting them;
  3. Participants will be able to test whether their orientation is performance or mastery;
  4. Participants will be able to evaluate the limitations of a deficit-focused culture and the potential of an asset-focused culture;
  5. Participants will be able to embrace change as an ally;
  6. Participants will be able to examine how past painful learning might be impacting them;
